Success Stories

  • Lester

    Lester

I have two boys Tylar-9 and Tanner-5 who have always wanted a 'wiener dog'. Lester came to us very scared, and didn't really know what toys were. After a few days of constantly being by my side, and even sleeping in my bed and riding in the car with us, he has become a very playful and very loving friend. He has become attached to his loofah wiener dog toy, and takes it everywhere. My boys and I have found a forever friend, and love Lester very much! Wish there was an option to upload more than one picture! One just doesn't do justice. :)

My husband and I have only had Molly (aka Abigail) for about 3 weeks now, but we are totally in love! Thanks DOC for our little blessing!

  • Honey

When we saw "Hazel's" picture, we knew we had to have her. We have named her Honey and she is a great addition to our family. She is so sweet and loving and loves to play with our other family member, a Dachshund/Chihuahua mix named Cree. She had heartworms, but DOCPAC provided the treatment and she is now heartworm free!

Thanks again DOCPAC, we love her!

  • Mushu

We adopted Chester in Dec. 2010 and have re named him mushu, because of the funny way he hunshes his back and hops around the house. He has turned into a 14 # ball of fun and cuddles, but beware when he plays he bites. He is a character and enterains himself and us daily. I am so glad he has been a perfect fit into our family.

  • Bailey aka "Glisten"

We adopted Bailey a few weeks ago and could not be happier! She and our resident dog are just best of friends!! She's doing great on potty training and learning to walk on the leash. She has caught on quickly with how to use the doggy door to the backyard. She is so smart! She fits right in with us and we just love her energy!!

We had such a great experience at DOCPAC, the staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. It was definitely worth the drive to Victoria (from Katy) to get our little bundle of joy. Thanks to you guys for making this such a great experience :)

  • Allison "Biscuit" Chang

After our cat went to be with Jesus, our wonderful dog Pickles needed a new playmate. Our family was also not complete with this loss so we started watching the dogs at Dorothy O'Conner. I was thrilled to see Allison, a sweet little black puppy online. My kids and I went to meet her and we just knew she was going to be a perfect fit for our family. My daughter renamed her biscuit and she is loved by all of us, including her new sister Pickles. She gives us lots of love and kisses and we are just so grateful to Dorothy O'Conner for helping bring her into our lives.

  • Petunia

Well what can I say, there is really no words to describe Petunia! It would be almost a year that my family and I took a road trip to Victoria Texas to adopt her. Adopting her was was never a plan untill we saw her one night on the internet and we knew she was for us. Petunia has adjusted perfectly with my 3 kids. She is really lovable and cares for my family so much. We are glad to say she is the most wonderful dog we could ask for.

Thank you so much for letting us adopt Petunia, and may God bless the DOCPAC.

  • Grant and Shaggy (Update)

I'm a volunteer at DOCPAC. I was had my eye on Shaggy for some time there was something unique about him that he just seemed to need a home soon and Shelter Life wasn't agreeing with him. Shaggy came from a home where he was never socialized with people so he needed special care so I was asked to Foster him. In less than I week I feel in love with Shaggy and adopted him.

A month later I was called again to Foster Grant who also was never socialized with people. My husband and I took on yet another challenge and it has been an amazing one. Both boy's are comical to watch playing in the yard and swapping their toys. Grant bounces around the living room scattering dog beds and toys waiting for Shaggy and Brutus to get up in them morning and play.

They are both making steady progress and have become permanent members of our family along with our dog Brutus and two cats Sadie and Lacey. We can't imagine thses two sweet and funny dogs living with anyone else. They are quite happy and content int heir new home and love to lie in their beds in front of a warm fire on cold winter nights.

Thanks DOCPAC for choosing us for Shaggy and Grant. We love them so much!

  • Sophie

Just wanted to send picture of sophie she has been a god sent. She is very smart and has adjuste to her new home,I thought her being an older dog that she wouldn't be able to hold her own but as you can see her and her brother get along very well.

  • Grant and Shaggy

Grant and Shaggy came to our home after being returned from adoptions that didn't work out. They were not adjusting well to Shelter life again so I was asked to take them home as Foster dogs.

I fell in love with both of them after one week. They both came form bad backgrounds and unsoiclzed with human they needed special care and wanted them to join our family. These two lively dogs are wonderful pets and so much fun to watch romping and playing in the yard with our older dog Brutus. They have brought alot of joy to him and to our family
