Charlie

Charlie

My name is Charlie and I want to share my story with you. I have lived most of my life at the shelter. Day by day I waited for my turn to be adopted, watching everyday people passing by looking and choosing...waiting for "my time"...my turn. Everyone noticed me, patting me on my nose as they walked by noticing my full figure look. I would do tricks, like giving Mr. Kevin a high five, but still over and over again....not "my time." Then one day, Ms. Sally gave me my chance. She took me with her to the Victoria Outdoor Expo. It was great! I no longer looked like a full figure, high five kid in my kennel. Ms. Sally fell in love with me and decided to take me to a real home, giving me "my time". After all of these years I now have a family. I have my own yard to run and play with my corgi brother Samson, my own food and water bowl, even my own bed and chew toy but best of all I have my own family. Wow..."MY TIME".

I get to share with children "all good things come to those who wait". Showing them how they can help my friends at the shelter with supplies, time, and love for those who are waiting for "their time".

I get to go with Ms. Sally and her staff to help teach others not everyone in the dog world or the human world are safe, meaning strangers, so we always want to be smart, safe, & aware of those around us. Our program, "Charlie and the Champs" includes information on why we should never approach strangers, human or animal, safety, disaster awareness, the importance of a healthy animal, and how to take care of my friends once they're home.
